A legend has passed

Preston and England legend Sir Tom Finney has passed away. Finney, born on the 5th of April 1922, spent his whole carrier at Preston North End. He wore the lillywhite jersey 433 times and scored 126 goals from 1946 to 1960.
For England he played 76 games including 3 World Championships 1950, -54 and -58) and scored 30 goals.
During the war he served in the Royal Armoured Corps as a tank driver and mechanic. Tom Finney was knighted 1998. This was probably not a big thing for the former plumber, but how deserved the rest of us belive it to be.
Sir Tom Finney will live one in the hearts of Prestonians all over the world. We salute you and will allways remember you - plumber, football player, knight and legende.
---
"Tom Finney would have been great in any team, in any match and in any age ... even if he had been wearing an overcoat." Bill Shankley

And it`s.. once again.. over

The JPT and the League Cup didn´t take long at all to get out off. The FA Cup on the other hand took several replays to get done with. Last night the boys fought bravely and deserved to meet Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in the 5th round. An absurd amount of chances was created and we should have scored earlie in the second half and kept on scoring untill we had a pleasant lead and eventually a victory. But once again it all ended to early for our boys in white. Forest should thank whatever force that held it`s hand over them at Deepdale. The best team lost and the shadow of a former greatness moved on. That`s the cold hard facts.
To quote our gaffer: "Lucky bastards!"
