A legend has passed
Preston and England legend Sir Tom Finney has passed away. Finney, born on the 5th of April 1922, spent his whole carrier at Preston North End. He wore the lillywhite jersey 433 times and scored 126 goals from 1946 to 1960.
For England he played 76 games including 3 World Championships 1950, -54 and -58) and scored 30 goals.
During the war he served in the Royal Armoured Corps as a tank driver and mechanic. Tom Finney was knighted 1998. This was probably not a big thing for the former plumber, but how deserved the rest of us belive it to be.
Sir Tom Finney will live one in the hearts of Prestonians all over the world. We salute you and will allways remember you - plumber, football player, knight and legende.
